International Remote Staff clients expect no less than the best from you!

At Remote Staff you will come to the realization that being an independent contractor is as competitive as any other positions out there in corporate jungle… so you need to be on top of your game. You will also be expected to conduct yourself professionally whilst representing Remote Staff as we have spent thousands of dollars attracting international clients for you to work with.

Some of the personal qualities we believe are important in forging a successful home based career with Remote Staff clients are as follows:

  • Majority of our international clients are based in English speaking countries so your ability to speak, read and write in English is essential.
  • You will need to have a serious and genuine pro-active commitment to home based work. Remote Staff is only interested in sub contracting you to work in full time or part time capacities and only if you are of the view and understanding of forging a long-term career with our clients.
  • You should be highly motivated, inspired and enthusiastic about your chosen career. You should enjoy the work you are performing and/or have meaningful reasons for doing it.
  • Working remotely requires you to have finely tuned organizational skills to manage your time efficiently. Checklist and write down all the tasks that need to be completed, identify priorities and make note of task that have already been finished.
  • Your ability to be tech savvy and utilize online collaboration tools such as Skype, Microsoft Word, Excel, and others is essential to your day-to-day work tasks.
  • Contractors will need to show initiative and should be confident enough to accept ownership of tasks and results. If a decision is to be made, and you’re capable of making that decision, then make the required proactive decision. In the case you are unsure or unable to make a decision, contact somebody who can. Do not sit around, waiting and wasting time.
  • It is not about what you know, it is more about how quickly you can learn and adapt. This will make the biggest difference in your job.
  • Contractors should be able to manage themselves and their workloads without requiring clients to micro manage, monitor, supervise and motivate you during your working hours. Once a task is delegated, you should be able to use your resources and talents to deliver results.
  • You will need to be able to multi task as you will find having to perform more than one task at a time. Your ability to stop and start from where you left off is vital.
  • You should be able to quickly adapt or readjust to new scenarios. You should be some one who is open/willing to accept change. Be aware that we cannot avoid change or encountering new things wherever we are.
  • Your ability to search online and show resourcefulness in identifying issues and your aptness of basic problem solving will be a huge benefit, when working remotely from home.

  • You will be required to meet deadlines and work well under pressure; being able to keep a cool head in stressful situation helps you and the team maintain forward momentum and meet deadlines. It is important to keep a clear focus on priorities and not stray from the end goals set.
  • Remote Staff are only interested in people who are committed to working as a home-based professional with a view to a long-term career choice. We are not interested in hiring people who only want to dabble or freelance.
  • When you are autonomously working from home for a client, you will be expected to exclusively work for that client only. Focusing your attention to one client at a time is essential and we will not accept staff working for more than one client simultaneously.
  • It is expected that you will be hired on the basis of one specialty skill set and not many. In other words, if you are hired as a web developer you are expected to provide the services to you client as a web developer and not of an SEO expert as well. We do not approve of staff working outside their fields of expertise and promising more than you are capable of delivering. This only leads to problems and disappointed clients.
  • It is important to understand that the client is hiring you to complete and perform work tasks for them and that the client has final say when relating to their wishes and expectation of these tasks. Try to keep in mind that you are working for them and they are contracting you for your services. It is fine to advise them of your opinion, but in the end the client’s decision is final.
  • When working for a client you must relinquish all IP ownership of any of the work performed and completed whilst working for them. IP ownership is wholly the clients and you cannot use or sell any of the work. Failure to adhere to the strict IP laws that govern you will result in termination and in serious cases legal action.
  • The terms of your contract are non negotiable with the client. It is a serious breach of contract to speak directly with the client regarding terms of your hire. To do so will result in termination.
  • All issues relating to your contract negotiations are to be conducted with Remote Staff only. Once a term is agreed to between yourself and Remote Staff you will not be able to re-negotiate these terms until a minimum time has lapsed such as 6mths to 1 year.
